IslandCarGuide.com is an independent website that publishes guides to help travelers decide whether and how to rent a car in Hawaii. This page explains what data is collected, how affiliate links work on this site, and how to get in touch.
Affiliate links
Some guides include a link to compare rental car rates. These links go through the Travelpayouts affiliate network to a rental booking partner (currently QEEQ). If you book through one of these links, this site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The commission never decides the advice: several guides tell you that you may not need a rental car at all.
What data is collected
This site does not ask for your name, email or payment details. The following tools run on the site and may set cookies or collect standard technical data such as pages visited, approximate location (country or region), device type and how you arrived:
- Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit), to see which guides are useful.
- Ahrefs Web Analytics, for privacy-friendly visit statistics.
- Travelpayouts, which tracks clicks on rental links so a booking can be credited to this site. If you book, the booking partner handles your personal and payment details under its own privacy policy; this site never sees them.
- Hostinger (the web host), which runs a site script and keeps standard server logs for security and performance.
Google Search Console is also used, but it only reports how the site appears in Google search. It does not track you on this site.
Cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so will not stop you from reading any guide, though it may stop a booking from being credited to this site.
