Short answer: Parking at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center is $7 per day, paid by QR code in the lot on the day of your visit (no cash booth, and no paying ahead). The lot fills early, so arrive early.

Pearl Harbor is one of the few Oahu stops where driving yourself is genuinely the norm, not the exception. Here’s what to actually expect at the lot.

Cost and how you pay

Parking at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center runs $7 per day for both personal and rented vehicles. There’s no cash booth. You pay by scanning the QR code on one of the signs in the lot. The National Park Service says parking can’t be paid in advance, only on the day of your visit, so have your phone charged and ready.

Get there early

The official lot fills up quickly during peak hours; arriving around 8:00 AM gives you the best shot at a spot, especially if you’re booked on an early USS Arizona tour (book that ticket in advance through recreation.gov. It sells out).

Rather skip the parking lot? This Pearl Harbor and downtown Honolulu tour includes pickup at selected hotels and the National Park fees, and runs 5 to 9 hours depending on the option you pick. It has about 5,000 reviews, and 99% of travelers recommend it.

Use the official lot, not the overflow areas nearby

The National Park Service lot is patrolled and monitored. Visitors on forums have specifically warned that unmonitored adjacent areas see more break-ins, worth knowing if you’re planning to leave anything in the car, rental or not.

  • No-bag policy applies inside. Bags, purses, backpacks, and camera bags aren’t allowed in the visitor center or memorials. Plan to leave them in the car or use the paid bag storage near the entrance.
  • This is a full-day stop for most people once you add the USS Arizona, USS Missouri, and aviation museum. Budget your rental’s fuel and return timing accordingly if it’s your last stop before the airport.
