Short answer: The International Market Place garage charges $4 per 30 minutes. Spend at least $25 at its stores or restaurants and validated parking is free for the first hour, then $3 for each of the next two hours. The entrance is on Kuhio Avenue at Walina Street, not on Kalakaua.

International Market Place sits between Kalakaua and Kuhio Avenues in the middle of Waikiki, and it has its own parking garage. If you have a rental car and plan to shop or eat there, validation makes it one of the cheaper short stops in Waikiki. Here are the numbers from the mall’s official page.

International Market Place parking rates

Parking Rate
Standard (no validation) $4 per 30 minutes or part of 30 minutes
Validated, 1st hour Free
Validated, 2nd hour $3
Validated, 3rd hour $3

Validation needs a minimum spend of $25 at the center’s stores and restaurants. Some older guides still quote a $10 minimum or $2 per 20 minutes. The mall’s own page now says $25 and $4 per 30 minutes, so plan on those.

What a visit actually costs

  • 3 hours with validation: $0 + $3 + $3 = $6.
  • 3 hours without validation: six half-hours at $4 = $24.
  • 1 hour without validation: $8.

The mall lists validated rates for the first three hours only. If you will stay longer, ask the parking office what applies after that before you assume the low rate continues.

Where the garage entrance is

The entrance is off Kuhio Avenue at Walina Street, on the Kuhio side of the block, even though the mall’s address is on Kalakaua.

  • Coming along Kalakaua Avenue: keep left where Kuhio and Kalakaua split, follow Kuhio to the Walina Street intersection, and the entrance is on the right.
  • Coming from Kapahulu Avenue: go to Ala Wai Boulevard, continue to Walina Street, turn left, and drive straight through the Kuhio intersection into the garage.

Parking office

The parking office is on Level 3 near the parking elevators, phone 808-460-8845. It is open 7am to 10pm Sunday through Thursday and 7am to midnight on Friday and Saturday. The mall’s address is 2330 Kalakaua Avenue.

Parking anywhere else in Waikiki

If you aren’t spending $25 at the center, $4 per half hour adds up fast. The Waikiki parking guide for rental cars compares the other garages and hotel parking. Driving out of Waikiki for the day?
