Short answer: Lihue airport parking costs up to $24 per 24 hours in the public lot off Mokulele Loop, with the first 15 minutes free. Pickup curbs and detours shifted during 2026 construction, so follow the signs.
Lihue airport parking is one public lot next to the terminal. The rates match Kahului and Kona, but 2026 brought construction and storm recovery work, so the pickup curbs haven’t always been where you’d expect.

Enter from Mokulele Loop, take a ticket, and pay the cashier as you exit, by cash or major credit card (no checks). The parking office (ABM) is at (808) 245-8716.
2026 construction and pickup changes
HDOT has been rebuilding the pickup areas in phases. Pickups moved to Baggage Claim B while the Baggage Claim A curb was repaved, and HDOT said the two would then swap, with each phase taking about four months. Part of Mokulele Loop was also closed, with traffic detoured to Ahukini Road. Check the posted signs for which curb is open when you arrive.
Hurricane Lowell added to the strain this fall: the airport ran on backup power for a stretch, and HDOT reported longer security lines while that lasted. Leave extra time on departure day.
The free waiting area
The cell phone waiting area is curbside on Ho‘olimalima Place, next to the car rental facilities, on the left side of the road. It’s free for up to an hour, from 5 a.m. to close of business.
EV charging
The main lot has EV stalls and a charging station for two vehicles, listed at $7 per 24 hours.
Turo cars don’t use this lot
Turo hosts aren’t allowed on Lihue Airport property at all. Turo cars wait at Kukui Grove Center, reached by a Turo shuttle from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Details are in the Turo in Hawaii guide.
