Short answer: Kahului airport parking (OGG) costs up to $24 per 24 hours in the main public lot, with the first 15 minutes free. The free cell phone lot, north of the rental car area, is open 5 a.m. to 1 a.m.

Kahului airport parking is simple: one main public lot across from the terminal, a ticket at the gate, and a pay booth on the way out. Here are the rates and the details that catch people out.

Kahului airport parking rates

From the Kahului Airport parking page:

Time parked Total
Up to 15 minutes Free
16 to 30 minutes $2
Up to 1 hour $5
Up to 2 hours $8
Up to 3 hours $11
Up to 4 hours $15
Up to 5 hours $19
5 to 24 hours (maximum per 24 hours) $24

Take a ticket at the entrance and pay the cashier when you leave. Cash or a major credit card works; checks don’t. Rows are lettered, so note yours, and keep the ticket somewhere safe, not on the dashboard.

Commuter terminal and heliport parking

Parking at the commuter terminal and heliport is prepaid at pay stations, and your receipt has to be visible on the dashboard or you can be cited. The pay stations take cash and cards but don’t give change.

The free cell phone lot

The cell phone waiting lot is just north of the car rental area, a few minutes from the terminal. It’s open 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. daily, with a 60-minute limit. Drive past the terminal and around the parking lot; the cell lot driveway is on the right just past Palapala Drive. Drivers must stay with the car.

EV charging

The main lot has EV-only stalls and one charging station that serves two vehicles. The parking operator, ABM, answers questions at (808) 871-1747.

Meeting a Turo car here

Turo hosts may only leave cars in the West Parking Lot, rows A to D, with a short in-person handoff allowed in Row H of the main lot. Curbside handoffs are banned. More in the Turo in Hawaii guide.
